CHAPTER 1

Looking at the past, is it really the truth?

PART 1

“Sir, can you tell us what’s the police’s assumption on the identityof the dead girl just found in the forest?” “Is there any evidence on how the
girl was killed?” The crowd of reporters shoved their way to the solemn faced
mayor, cameras flashed and the noise rose from the crowd as questions were
thrown at the mayor like bullets on his heart and brain. The excess of pressure
and lack of sleep made a cord snap in his brain. He threw his cup of coffee
straight into the face of a reporter in front of him, slamming his bag onto the
floor. Everyone gasped, stepping back in fear away from the mayor. After a
second of silence, the flashing of cameras and voices of the reporters grew
into an even higher level. The mayor’s temper rose as a red hue climbed up his
neck and he shouted at the crowd, spit flying all over the place, “We don’t
know a shit! You all motherfucker stand here and ask a bunch of stupid fucking
questions that we no nothing of! Can you all just fuck off! We are trying to investigate
stupid idiots! Don’t stand in front of me and flash your stupid fucking cameras
at me!” The mayor pushed at the reporters, shoving them and grabbing cameras,
throwing them into the hard concrete floor and stomping on what is left of the
cameras. The two assistants of the mayor hurried over and pulled the mayor away
while he finally calmed down, throwing the reporters disgusted looks as he
walked back in into the office building.

PART 2

“Sir, these are some newspapers on the matterof you and the case of the dead girl and here’s the pictures and reports of the
body and crime scene,” the assistant carefully handed the stack of newspapers and
official reports to the mayor, who is slumped in his chair, rubbing his brows.
The mayor sighed and picked up the stack, pictures of the forest, the dead body
of the girl, the sort of summoning circle drawn underneath the summoning circle
were printed clearly on the paper, he examined them closely and read the
reports. The body of the girl was found in the woods on the North side of the
town. It was located in a clearing near the mountains. The teenage girl,
identity unknown, was killed by the loss of blood. A hole was poked on her vein
on her neck, but the size was perfectly controlled, allowing the blood to
steadily trickle out until the girl died. She was probably put unconscious by propofol
and sedatives later, these were detected in her blood and there are no other
signs of physical harm on her body. The whole drawing of channels under the
girl is probably a summoning circle of some sort. The girl’s blood trickled
from her neck into the channel and the whole shape is drawn with her blood.
There are other chemicals detected around the circle, and there are signs of a
fire. The mayor sighed heavily then started flipping through the newspapers and
his face grew more and more tired as he read on. “Sir,there is lot of negative feedback from what you did yesterday, I’m afraid…” The
assistant said unsurely. “This is a problem, try to calm down the crowd and
release news that we found evidence and already have assumptions of the
identity of the girl,” the mayor said, standing up from his chair. “But, we
don’t have evidence…” “Just go!” The assistant rushed out the room, closing the
door gently behind him.

PART 3
“Hi, this is Tesha from DBC News. Today is 2050 July 4th, here’supdate on the murder of the teenage girl. The mayor is suspected of committing
the murder, as he lied to the people about the progress of the case. The lack
of evidence and progress might be because of him trying to hide the truth.” The
host of the DBC News reported on screen. Meanwhile, the mayor is faced with two
police officers. “Sir, I’m sorry to say that you might need to answer a few
questions on the matter of the murder,” the male police officer said solemnly
to the mayor. The mayor slammed his fists down on the desk, his chair scraping
on the floor,” I fucking told you already! I didn’t do it! Why would I do it?”
“Sir, sir, please calm down. We just want to make sure. Did you really not do
it? You know that admitting could lessen your crime. If you did murder the
girl, please tell the truth,” The female officer said in a soothing voice
trying to calm down the mayor. But actually, that had the opposite effect, the
mayor started shouting again as frustration took a toll on his patience.

PART 4

“Hi, welcome to DBC News. I’m Tesha and today is 2050 July 14th. There’ssurprising progress on the case of the teenage girl murder. The police claims
that the murderer was the mayor. His mental condition has been getting worse and
worse and he has been officially diagnosed with high levels of bipolar disorder
just yesterday. He will be charged at court a week later, let us hope justice
can be brought upon this murderer.” The TV displayed the morning news as people
bustled around the café, smiles was brought to the faces of the people as this
piece of news was broadcasted through the speakers……

But is it actually the truth?
